Filmed with GABRE Industrial Real Estate UK Ltd for the exhibition Common Ghosts – an exhibition exploring the uncertain zones between visibility and invisibility. With this in mind I set about trying to film the biggest object I could find – a recently completed distribution centre.
I was attracted to the colour graduated cladding panels, used in an attempt to render the structures invisible, and astounded by the immense space contained within.
It was just me and the security guard and the space swallowed us. It was hard to leave the sides, like being in a swimming pool and not knowing how to swim. Conversation saved us.
